On the Banks of the Red Cedar in Birmingham

I made it through my first week of class for MSU. I've turned in two papers already. Woo Hoo. Now let me ask you, when a professor advises you to buy a 'bottle or two of cheap red wine' within the first five minutes of class, is that a good thing? Or should I be scared? Actually, that advice came out of a letter of advice to future classes from a former student. The professor did choose to read the letter though.
