A New Resolution

I always seem to make summer resolutions. Maybe it's because it's warm and beautiful out during the summer and just about anything seems possible. I hardly ever make a new year's resolution because I just don't ever keep them. New year's is a stupid time to make a resolution if you ask me.

Usually my resolutions for summer include how many books I want to read. They also usually include a goal to do some unit planning for school. I have a goal this summer to paint the front porch because it is all pealy and yucky and the neighbors are starting to talk (conjecture only). Okay. Maybe I don't have resolutions as much as I have goals. So, anyways, I have decided that I should throw in a fun and interesting goal as well. I wanted to do something I've never done before but always wanted to do. With an 8 month old baby and having taken 8 months off of word, going to Europe is pretty much out of the question.

So, I had to ask myself....what have I always wanted to do that I can learn to do with very few resources? Then it came to me. I will learn how to do the splits! I've never been even a little bit flexible, so the people that can do the splits make me jealous. I found a page online that claims that you can learn to do the splits in 3 weeks. The page doesn't include any riders about age, so I think I'm good to go. So, when July 22 rolls around, I will update you on my progress. I am so excited. How ridiculous am I?

I'm counting down the days. I'm ready to see a picture of you down in the splits. That'll impress the people back at work. "You weren't taking care of your Chunky Monkey, you were teaching yourself how to do the splits."~Jen
